Many organizations often have the data needed for seeing the geographical relationships within their markets or communities served in a paper form. These organizations however often do not have the internal resources to undertake the data conversion to implement a geographic information system. The ASSL GIS Division offers services for converting paper-based, non-digital spatial datasets into digital format. Our activities include scanning, digitizing, geo-referencing and conversion of data between spatial formats. Thus we are able to assist our clients in the processing, conversion and migration of spatial data for the development and deployment of GIS applications. We undertake:
- Digitizing from source media
- Tracking down and incorporating off-the-shelf geographic data
- Converting anything geographic into clean GIS layers
- Building well-organized project geodatabases
On our Mapping Examples Page can be seen some of the GIS Data Conversion work undertaken by the Amalgamated GIS Division.
